Dave Ackerman has been a member of SVRSFD for 2 ½ years! Dave is currently a firefighter at our station as well as a member of our Board of Directors. Dave was also our Rookie Firefighter of the Year in 2023! Dave is being recognized as our Admin/Operational Officer for February! Dave is very motivated to learn something new whenever he walks in the door! Dave has been a guide to younger members as well and is always getting them involved with training and learning new skills to help our community! Dave frequently brings his adorable kiddos along with him to the station, and they are right alongside their dad, learning, helping around the station, and bringing all the joy to SVRSFD! Dave is always willing to do anything he can to make our station better and help anyone who needs a hand!

We asked Dave what he loves about volunteering and being a member of SVRSFD and this is what he said!

“I love learning new skills, cultivating a family bond, being an inspiration for my family and friends, giving back to the community. I am a happy husband and father of three on our small homestead in Lusby. Full time engineer during the day and proud volunteer whenever the community needs me. Solomons has become a second family to me, the people at this station opened their arms to me and my family and made us all feel welcomed. Being a firefighter was never something I thought of doing but it has grown into such an incredible passion of mine and I thrive to improve my skills, and put them to use.

We love that Dave and his family have joined our Family, and we are so lucky to have them!
