Madison Hughes has been a member of SVRSFD for the past 8 months and is one of our Junior members. Madison is being recognized as our February Junior/Cadet Member of the Month! From the moment Madison stepped foot in our station, she was the light in every room she walked into. Madison takes pride in making people happy and making everyone laugh until it hurts! She has a heart of gold and makes it her mission to take care of the people she loves. Madison is an Aide on the ambulance right now but is planning on enrolling in Calvert County’s CTA Fire and EMS program to further her education and become an EMT

We asked Madison what her favorite parts were about volunteering and being a member at SVRSFD, and this is what she said!

“Some of my favorite things about being a volunteer is getting to help the people in my community, and the events we get to be a part of to show support to our community. My favorite part about being a member of SVRSFD is walking into the doors to a family I can call my own. The people there are supportive, kind, loving and are always there for you. SVRSFD is the best part of my day. I always look forward to seeing my best friends. I look forward to being there for my community on their worst days even if that's just a friendly hand.”

Madison definitely has a bright future ahead of her at SVRSFD and we can’t wait to watch her learn and grow!
