Ms. Kiera Taylor has been a member of SVRSFD since 2022. She is one of our Junior Members in our department. Kiera is being recognized as our Junior/ Cadet Member of the Month for January! Kiera is a true asset to our department in so many ways! She is a leader to her peers as well as new members that are learning what it takes to be cut loose to ride on the ambulance. Her motivation and drive to learn more every day are truly amazing! We hope that she continues to grow in our department and we can’t wait to see all she accomplishes in the future!

We asked Kiera what she loves about being a member of SVRSFD and this is what she told us,

“I have grown up watching my parents go out into our community saving and making a change in so many people’s lives. The people in this firehouse have become a strong, second, forever family and we continue to build new bonds and friendships along the way. Watching these amazing people do what they do inspired me from a very young age. Being in the medical field has been my biggest goal in life, and I’ve finally been able to be a part of it. I continue to learn and grow, forever grateful for each and every experience. My favorite parts about being a volunteer at Solomon’s is being able to help provide care to patients in need even as just an aide. Our members and career crew have graciously taught me everything I know. I will continue to carry this knowledge close because we learn more than just about how to be a medical provider. We learn how to be better humans, to take care of ourselves just as well as we do our patients, and how to be resilient. We learn a different level of respect and how to be better after every call. Being a part of a fire department whether it’s the fire or EMS side is not for everyone. It takes special people to do what we do. We have a love for helping others in some of the worst moments in their life, no matter the rank at which you hold.”

Kiera is such a positive light in our department and we are so luck to have her!
