After two decades of dedicated service to the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department, Engine 33/Tanker 3 today was placed out of service. This unit a 1991 E-One Cyclone has served as a dual purpose pumper tanker faithfully to the Solomons Community. It will now be finding a new home in Anderson County, Kansas where she will without a doubt continue to support its local community with dedicated service. Many older members have memories when this unit was new to the Solomons Volunteers and became an important piece of apparatus for our community. These members fought for a pumper tanker standard in order to have a piece of equipment on scene with more water in order to protect our community. In a few months Solomons will be taking delivery of a 2012 Rosenbauer Commander Chasis which will be designated Tanker 3. As we are sad to see this dedicated piece leave the department we are also excited to move forward into the future.
