Ambulance 37 Delivered and Letter

June 16, 2016

This past week Ambulance 37 has been officially delivered after having its lettering and punch list completed. In the next week members will begin stocking and getting it in service so that it can be taken to the Maryland State Fire Convention in Ocean City. This evening it was nice enough we were able to get her outside to get some of the first photographs of her done. While taking these images we also decided to get some nice shots of her with her sister Ambulance. Be on the look out in the future as our photographer takes more pictures of Ambulance 37 and cleans them up to be displayed online and around the station.

Ambulance 37's mural in the star of life is that of Cove Point Lighthouse. This is the second of three lighthouse in history which lighted the way for boats and sailors to find the inlet for the Patuxent River. The last of these light houses was Cedar Point which is no longer standing but pieces from its ceiling can be found in the ceiling at the pavilion at the Calvert Marine Museum. Also the cupola which stood on top of the building is located at the Patuxent River Naval Museum.

The Solomons Volunteers are proud of how we have captured the rich history of the Southern Maryland Lighthouses in our area in our series of lighthouse murals on our ambulances.

Units: Ambulance 37, Ambulance 38
