This evening DC Local 36 stopped over in Solomons to spend the night as they take DC Fireboat 1 to Baltimore for rehab work. The Solomons Volunteers offered their services to assist with transporting the firefighters to and from the hotel they were staying at overnight. As a treat several volunteers had the opportunity to tour their fireboat and learn what it is like to be stationed to a fireboat in a major metropolitan area. The boat itself when operational will contain enough gear and equipment to outfit both a Heavy Rescue and Ladder truck. The Volunteers would like to thank DC Local 36 for the tour of their boat and feel free to stop by Solomons anytime for a tour of our trucks.
