Starting at 0600 hrs the Solomons Volunteers have been on the road steady today responding to twelve different calls for services. These calls ranged from standard medical calls all the way to a first due working house fire. In between calls we even utilized the new Zodiac 3 to respond to a DNR assist call for a sunk vessel. Public Information Officer Norman Rea, July 22

At approximately 1254 hrs Solomons was alerted to an MVA at Driftwood Beach in the Ranch Club. Upon arrival crews found a car that had been ran up on some boulders. Crews quickly assessed all the patients and transported to the hospital for check-ups and evaluation. The Squad crew contained a minor oil leak and crews returned to service at 1549 hrs.... Electrical Investigation

Public Information Officer Norman Rea, July 21

At approximately 0951 hrs company 3 and surrounding departments were dispatched to a residence reporting an electrical issue. Upon arrival Chief 3B advised Engine 33's crew to hook some ceiling above the area where the popping sound could be heard. No Caption Zodiac 3 Delivered

Public Information Officer Norman Rea, July 19

Today the new Zodiac 3 was delivered to the station. This Zodiac had been acquired via a grant with the Department of Natural Resources to replace our current aging Zodiac. In the next few weeks members will begin to train on the new Zodiac so it can be put into service. The Solomons Volunteers would like to thank everyone in their help on acquiring this new unit.... Serious MVA at Route 4 and Coster

At approximately 1854 hrs Solomons and surrounding stations were alerted to a MVA at Coster Road and Route 4 reported serious. Promptly Squad 3, Engine 33, and Ambulance 39 responded. Upon arrival Chief 3A report a serious T-Bone accident with one patient trapped. Crews from Squad 3 and Squad 7 worked to extract the entrapped patient while Ambulance 77 provided patient care to the patient in the ... (Full Story & Photos)
