Boat Fire with Multiple Burn Injuries at Marina

At approx. 6:04 pm Solomons Volunteer Fire and Rescue was dispatched for a marina fire at Spring Cove Marina in Solomons, Maryland. A 38 foot cabin cruiser was fueling at the dock when an unknown source ignited the vessel. A flash fire caused injury to 10 people. 8 people have been transported to specialty center, including 3 pediatric patients. 2 were transported to the local ER for minor injuries. ... (Full Story)

Tree down turned to Fun

Today members from the department assisted in clearing several roadways of fallen trees. One particular call was called into the station as a service call and the we responded. Members arrived to find a large evergreen tree had fallen across the callers neighboring driveway. Early Morning Flyout

At Approximately 0445 hours the company and CALS Co.10 were alerted for an unconscious subject. Ambulance 38, Engine 34, Car 3 and Medic 102 Responded. Medic 102 arrived to find a male unconscious after a fall and requested a the medivac due to trauma. Engine 34 Established the LZ for MSP trooper 7. Ocean City Fire Convention

Today Solomons Volunteers participated in the Annual Ocean City Fire Convention Parade. All the new units were proudly cleaned up and driven through the parade. At the end of the day the Solomons Volunteers took home 4 trophies for our units. Rescue Engine 3 won Best Appearing Rescue Engine, Engine 33 won Best Appearing Pumper Tanker, Ambulance 38 won Best Appearing Ambulance, and Engine 31 Honorable ... (Full Story & Photos)

Spider-Man Assists Volunteers in PR Event

Our local friendly Spider-Man assisted the Solomons Volunteers today at the Navy Rec Center by providing a way for the children of our community and opportunity to cool off during this heat wave. Spider-Man manned an attack line with a fog nozzle supplied by Tanker 3 to disperse water so that all the children could have a fun and refreshing time cooling off on such a hot day.
